A really nice large format “imperial” print featuring an Indian Wars cavalry unit lined up in its company street. The men wear five-button sack coats and kepis with crossed saber badges. They stand with sabers drawn to their shoulders, with scabbards neatly positioned by their sides. Lots of interesting gear is visible in and around their tents, including carbines, leather accoutrements, blankets, camp chairs, candles, etc. Blurry at the lower-right appears to be a person’s fist. Perhaps the photographer’s? The image is adhered to a 10” x 8” mount. Very good condition with only a few light scratches in the image’s surface and some rough spots along the edge of the mount.
