This CDV features a small house that, judging by the cannon on the front porch, appears to be part of the defenses of Vicksburg. On the opposite side of the porch is a man playing a guitar while the ramparts loom in the background. The blurred form of the US flag can even be seen flying just behind the right-most portion of the house. There is no photographer’s imprint or identifying information, but the CDV was part of an album that contained officers from the 20th Ohio and 5th US Colored Heavy Artillery, as well as other landscapes of late-war Vicksburg. Very good condition with slightly trimmed corners. Measures about 4” x 2 1/2”.
