$0.00

Item No. 7244441

This rare CDV features two Union brigadiers side by side in a full-length pose. They are Generals Morgan L. Smith and John P. Hawkins. The image likely dates from late 1864 or early 1865 when both men were stationed at Vicksburg—Smith as commander of the post and Hawkins commanding a division of US Colored Troops. The two men are identified in period ink at the bottom of the mount. On the verso is found the studio imprint of Vicksburg’s Washington Gallery. Excellent condition. Measures about 2 1/2” x 4”.
