A very nice quarter plate ruby ambrotype featuring a Union captain and his two young sons, or perhaps brothers. The captain wears an interesting pork pie hat and displays his captain’s bars on his collar. The young boys are dressed in army uniforms of their own, and the one on the left appears to be making a funny face at the camera. A wonderful image housed in a scarce thermoplastic case (Berg 3-31) in good shape with expected wear and rough edges.
