The soldier seated on the bottom left brandishes a sword for the camera while he links arms with his fellow infantryman. A third gentleman, clad in a fine suit of civilian clothes, embraces both of them. The photographer captured the scene in perfect light, creating a vignette effect that dramatically frames the subjects.
