A CDV view of a Union soldier identified by signature on the reverse as “Chas. W. Adams.” Under the signature is the imprint of photographers Hall & Judkins, whose studio was located near 24th Corps headquarters at City Point, Virginia. The HDS database includes 24 records of a “Charles W. Adams,” although this may be the one belonging to the 2nd New Hampshire volunteers because the group of images in which this one was found contained another confirmed 2nd NH man. Slight tear to the lower-right corner of the albumen. Measures about 2 3/8” x 4”.
