This small tintype featuring a second lieutenant of artillery is enclosed in an attractive oreo-style thermoplastic case. His shoulder strap was tinted red for artillery by the photographer. The two pieces of the case twist together nicely. As seen in the photos, there are several very small areas of damage around the edges where the notches were chipped away. Really a nice little piece. Measures 1 3/4” in diameter.
