1864 CDV of Union Private Wearing 5th Corps Badge

$80.00

Item No. 2245502

Pictured in this uncredited CDV image is a Union private seated in a chair. On the breast of his frock coat he wears a badge of the 5th Corps. Another device is visible on his cap, but because of the angle it can’t be distinguished. He wears a leather belt from which a bayonet scabbard hangs, and which is secured by a pattern 1851 eagle/wreath plate. There is a 2-cent revenue stamp on the reverse, with a cancellation date that reads “Nov 1 1864.” Some foxing and toning to the mount. Measures about 2 1/2” x 3 3/4”.
