Sixth Plate Tintype of a Pair of Yankee Friends - Pulaski, Tennessee Photographer's Backdrop

Item No. 0526374

A nice sixth plate tintype featuring a pair of seated Union soldiers. The photographer's backdrop has been identified by other collectors as coming from Pulaski, Tennessee and that many Indiana troops were photographed in front of it. There is nothing to identify these men, however, aside from a label on the back with the common names Simmons and Williams. Both men have had rouge applied to their cheeks and gold tint applied to the buttons of their frocks and vests, as well as their watch fobs. The man on the right wears sergeant's chevrons on his sleeves. This is a really interesting image with a lot of details and it comes housed in a leather half case.
