A nice hand-written document titled, “Provision return for men in Field hospital of 15 A. C. for 5 days, commencing Aug 16th and ending Aug 20th 1864.” It states that 211 men were in the hospital, requiring 1,055 rations for 5 days. Requested were quantities of beef, flour, beans, sugar, candles, soap, and ham. The order was approved and signed for Colonel Samuel Ross of the 20th Connecticut, the post commander at Marietta, Georgia, by the post adjutant, Sergeant Marden Sabin of the 100th Indiana. It was also signed by Surgeon Asher Goslin of the 48th Illinois, in charge of the 15th Corps field hospital.

The document measures about 10” x 8” and is in excellent condition with light toning and creases where it was originally folded.
