Item No. 8118365

Offered here is an interesting quarter plate Civil War tintype featuring a full-length pose of a yankee infantryman armed with rifle and bayonet. He stands in the photographer's studio with both hands around the barrel of the rifle. He wears a heavy greatcoat, leather belt with cap pouch around his waist, and a forage cap with an infantry horn badge on the front. The photographer's studio appears to be quite a mess. The man in the image is standing adjacent to the backdrop rather than in front of it, so behind him is a pile of cloth on the floor and a chair with a box on top of it. The image is also somewhat blurry in the center of the image, from the man's neck down to about the bottom of his coat. It comes housed in complete leather case. The hinge is functional, but could use some attention. Also, only one of the hook & eye closures is present.
