Item No. SQ4061120

Offered here is an interesting April 1863 Confederate Civil War document by which Chaplain Fitz Henry Ivey of the 57th Georgia was issued rations for communion while the regiment was engaged in the defense of Vicksburg. This is Confederate form No. 6, "Monthly Summary Statement of Funds Received and Disbursed." It was written and signed by Captain Marcus W. Johnson of the 57th.

The document measures about 16" x 10 1/4". The paper is typical of Confederate paper in that it's quite thin, but it remains sturdy. Little wear to edges and corners. There are a couple small holes in the document, visible in the photos. Creases where originally folded, along with some slight separation.

Includes the envelope the document was discovered in. On the front is written, "Returns for May 1863."
