Item #SQ6430908

Offered here is an interesting 1863-dated Civil War CDV. The image features a dramatization of Lady Liberty or Columbia holding a copy of the Emancipation Proclamation, with a freed slave man and woman on either side. J. P. Soule is identified as the photographer, with G. G. Fish as the artist. On the reverse, the original back mark has been scratched out save for "Boston." In its place was hand-written "Album Gem Co / Box 1720."

The CDV measures about 4" x 2 1/2" and is in very good condition as shown.
