A quarter plate tintype photograph taken outdoors and featuring a mounted cavalry soldier holding his saber in front of him. The photography studio added gilt to the sword guard, his coat buttons, and the horse’s bit and rosettes. There is no identifying information on the image. It is somewhat degraded and has several slight bends and other defects.
