A nice gelatin silver print of an 1864 Timothy O’Sullivan photograph of White House Landing on the Pamunkey River in Virginia. Several steamers and barges are visible at the wharf, including the paddle steamer Wenonah. The image is attached to a mount measuring about 8 1/2” x 6 1/2”. On the reverse is a tag with an 1898 date, which may be when the print was made. It is marked as having been ordered by Miss Francis Benjamin Johnston, the early photographer and photojournalist.
