Item No. 2941627

A nice No. 33 forage requisition for June 1863 for the two private horses owned and used by Colonel Franklin C. Smith of the 102nd Illinois Volunteers. The form was written out at Stewart’s Creek, Tennessee and specifies the quantities of corn and hay requested. Smith’s signature appears twice. It is also signed by Lieutenant Francis H. Ruger, quartermaster for the 102nd. It measures about 8” x 9 3/4” and is in excellent condition. There is some minor foxing and creases where the original folds were made.
