This sixth plate tintype image features a Union soldier standing at attention. He wears an infantryman’s frock coat with a nine-button front and wears a cap with a flipped-up brim. The image gives excellent, clear views of the man’s US belt plate and cartridge box strap plate. He is armed with an Austrian Lorenz rifle with bayonet attached. Really nice condition as shown. It is housed in a half case.
