A bust CDV view of William G. “Parson” Brownlow, the Tennessee Unionist who served as the Reconstruction governor of the state from 1865-1869, and as US Senator from Tennessee from 1869-1875. On the reverse is the imprint of photographer W. H. Sherman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The carte is in very good condition and measures about 2 1/2” x 4”.
