A full standing CDV view of William G. “Parson” Brownlow, the Tennessee Unionist who served as the Reconstruction governor of the state from 1865-1869, and as US Senator from Tennessee from 1869-1875. Brownlow poses with a large top hat in hand. At the base of the mount it reads “PARSON BROWNLOW” over the New York address of E. Anthony’s photographic studio. The carte is in excellent condition and measures about 2 1/2” x 4”.
