A nice Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver in 31 caliber, 5-shot cylinder, and 6” barrel. Address on the barrel reads in a single line, “ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA.” Serial number 187779 (1861 production) matches on barrel, frame, trigger guard, and bottom of grip frame. The wedge is a loose-fitting modern replacement. About 10% of the original blued finish remains on the barrel, with a dark gray/plum patina overall. Scratches and minor pitting throughout. Some of the stagecoach scene is still visible on the cylinder. The action functions appropriately and the cylinder indexes like it should.
