Listed on four pages of this oversized document are 481 names of men from Medford, Massachusetts, who were then enrolled in the local militia. Recorded by town clerk Oliver Blake, the “Annual Return” includes names of prominent townspeople such as homeopathist Dr. Samuel Gregg and shipbuilders James O. Curtis and Paul Curtis. In a pre-printed paragraph at the bottom of the fourth page it states that the names were to be gathered and sent annually to the state’s adjutant general. Measures about 6 1/2” x 15 3/4”. Very good condition with light toning. Creased at the original folds, which have previous tape repairs to control separation.
